Pisten Bully fundraiser, training update

This season the Whitehorse Cross Country Ski Club bought a new Pisten Bully (a big machine used to groom ski trails, click here for picture), but they are still having a bit of trouble coming up with all the money to pay for it. Myself and the rest of the Yukon Elite Squad decided to help the Club out by doing a fundraiser. Local wax/ski connoisseur Gerard Frostad put on a waxing clinic while the YES volunteered to clean up/hot wax skis for donations to help pay for the Pisten Bully.

This past week we also played hosts to the Callaghan Valley Training Centre. The CVTC was looking to get some on-snow training before the racing season starts, and as Whitehorse is currently the only place in Canada to be skiing on real snow, it was a good fit for them to come up here. It's always nice to have some new training partners to make things a little more exciting. The Yukon News did a story on this subject, click here to check it out. During their time here we joined up to do a couple intensity sessions, including a sprint race simulation, click here for the Whitehorse Star's coverage of the "race".

There is exactly two weeks before I leave Whitehorse to officially start the racing season. Training is going good and I'm starting to get excited!
