It’s nice to finally be skiing on real snow! The last couple weeks have been unusually warm in Quebec. There was a 500m artificial loop of snow made at Forêt Montmorency (about a 30min drive from Quebec City) on which we were able to get a couple skis on but 500m doesn’t take very long to do and you get bored pretty quick on a loop that short. So the team decided to leave for SilverStar (near Vernon, BC) a week earlier than we had originally planned so that we could get a couple weeks of real skiing in before the racing season starts. We arrived yesterday in Silverstar and like the rumors had said, there is quite a bit of snow here. We had our first intensity workout today, which was very hard but it was fun to be able to do it on our new race skis and on real snow. I’m starting to realize just how close the race season is and I’m looking forward to getting it started! Well that’s all for now….
