This past week our team had a roller ski training camp in Williston, Vermont. Most of the camp was on a roller ski track which is in the middle of a big military training base. Skiing on the roller ski track was a lot more like real skiing. Short, steep, windy trails, which make for a lot more fun and interesting terrain than the usual highways....and you don’t have cars flying by you at 120km/h and crazy people yelling at you to get off the road!
The camp was also pretty big. There was our full CNEPH team, the Quebec Ski Team and the Quebec Biathlon team, totaling about 40 people. This made for big team trainings and large car convoys on the way to and from training sites!
The training when well for me. I logged some good training hours and was able to push hard and have a quality roller ski race at the end of the week. Hopefully I will get a copy of the results to post in the next day or so.
Unfortunately I don’t have photos from the camp but I do have a picture of Etienne, me and Knute (l-r) out on a road ride above the Saint Lawrence river last week, and a picture of me using a cold tub (a cold water bath we use to speed recovery time after hard workouts).
Until next time....
