This past weekend the Yukon Elite Squad and I joined the Yukon Ski Team for their annual "Dezadeash" roller ski training camp. The camp was short and sweet, just a three day camp over the long weekend. We stayed in the Dezadeash Lake Campground and roller skied the surrounding area. Over the past couple years there is about a 70km stretch of road around the Dezadeash area that has been re-paved, so the roller skiing around there is super nice! We packed in quite a few workouts in the three days we were there, including a run followed by some core strength, a hike, 4 times 7 minutes of threshold intensity, and two speed/sprinting workouts. Here are some pictures from the camp taken by coaches Alain and Amanda:

The last night of the camp we had a sauna in the team trailer and jumped in the lake, swimming in Yukon lakes in September isn't for the faint of heart! |
